Zen Threads specializes in customizable t-shirts with urban, retro, graphic, jazz, rock, indie, environmental, green, movie, art, rare, and pop culture designs on super soft, vintage feeling American Apparel tees and goods. Every shirt is a custom, one-of-a-kind creation made especially for you.
Just choose the design, the shirt color, and the ink color you like—we’ll do the rest. Get creative—with over 70 designs, over 13 shirt colors and over 10 ink colors, there are hundreds of combinations available! You’ll have a cool, custom t-shirt you won’t see on anybody else. We print exclusively on the highest quality items that best showcase the look and feel of our vintage, rock and retro t-shirt designs. We proudly offer American Apparel t-shirts, made sweatshop free in the USA! We print on American Apparel brand t-shirts because of their quality and comfort, but also for their classic style and perfect fit. They’re not too loose and not too trim, so these tees look great on every body type! Our Men’s version looks great on Women too (the “boyfriend tee”)! Check back often—we’re adding more t-shirt styles and designs all the time.
Why Earth Friendly Ink?
At Zen Threads, we’re committed to style, design, and the environment. Not only are water-based inks safer for the planet, but they look and feel better on our shirts. Many printers use Plastisol inks that lay on top of a shirt like a layer of scratchy plastic. Our inks feel like they’re part of the shirt. We re-create the look and feel of a vintage t-shirts, soft, and broken-in. Not only will it feel like your favorite t-shirt the day it arrives, but with time it will only look and feel better.
Choosing the Right Ink Color
Our guiding philosophy is choice. We want to give you every option to choose the exact shirt you want. If you want a design printed in black ink on a black shirt, we'll happily make it for you. However, we do feel that some designs look and stand out better if the ink color is darker than the shirt color (especially if it's a portrait style design). If this is the case, we usually won't include black or navy shirt color as an option and we recommend that you choose an ink color that is darker than your shirt color choice. (A few of our portrait style designs will only print with white or light colored ink, and that means your ink choices will be limited.)
